Field reports were delivered by Brigadier General Elkius Kobak and Major Kopitua Heluka, representing the TPNPB command structure at the scene. They accused the incident of being part of an armed drone air operation conducted by the Indonesian National Army.

In its statement, the TPNPB called on President Prabowo Subianto, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and the Commander of the Indonesian National Army, General Agus Subiyanto, to cease the use of armed drones in military operations in Papua, citing the high risk of civilian casualties.

The TPNPB also emphasized that all military operations must comply with international humanitarian law, particularly in areas claimed as active TPNPB-OPM zones.

“The attack in Yahukimo has destroyed civilian homes and injured innocent civilians. The state must be held accountable,” the press release read.

The statement was signed by TPNPB-OPM Spokesperson Sebby Sambom, alongside the leadership of the Central Headquarters, including General Goliat Tabuni (High Commander), Lieutenant General Melkisedek Awom (Deputy Commander), Major General Terianus Satto (Chief of Staff), and Major General Lekagak Telenggen (General Operations Commander).
