TPNPB Strongly Condemns Bomb Attack that Killed a Student in Yahukimo

DEKAI, TOMEI.ID | The Central Headquarters Management of the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB) issued a strong condemnation of a bomb attack allegedly carried out via an Indonesian National Armed Forces drone, which reportedly fell and exploded at a civilian residence on Jalan Gunung, Dekai City, Yahukimo Regency, on Tuesday (25 November 2025) at around 21:00 Eastern Indonesian Time.

The statement was delivered in the Second Official Press Release of TPNPB, published on Wednesday, 26 November 2025.

In it’s release, TPNPB stated that the explosion resulted in the death of Listin Sam (17), a student of State Vocational High School 2 Dekai, and injured Dapla, a resident reportedly suffering serious wounds. According to the group, the explosion occurred inside a bedroom while both victims were resting.

TPNPB emphasized that no armed confrontation took place between the forces of Kodap XVI Yahukimo and Indonesian security personnel at the time of the incident. They described the event as an action that “has the potential to constitute a crime against humanity.”

Furthermore, TPNPB urged President Prabowo Subianto to take responsibility for ongoing military operations in Papua, which they claim endanger civilian lives. The use of military equipment in security operations, they argue, has contributed to casualties and the forced displacement of residents in conflict-prone areas.

In the same statement, TPNPB called on friendly nations and United Nations member states to halt the supply of weapons and military logistical support to the Government of Indonesia, expressing concern that such supplies may be used in operations affecting civilian communities.

TPNPB also pressed national and international human rights organizations to immediately evacuate residents who have fled into the forests due to the escalating conflict. The group stated that displaced communities are living in dire conditions, with limited access to food, medicine, and humanitarian assistance.

In its closing remarks, TPNPB declared that it is opening access for humanitarian organizations to enter conflict areas in a neutral capacity to prevent further civilian casualties.

As of the time this news was published, no official statement has been issued by security authorities or the government regarding the alleged incident. [*]
